Luis Da Silva Jr.

Born on August 3, 1982, Luis Fernando Trikz Da Silva Jr. is an American basketball player, actor, author, and producer. Da Silva Jr. came to the limelight after he headlined Nike's freestyle ad campaign from 2001.

He was the first streetball player to sign off an advertisement contract with Nike in 2001. Luis even got a chance to perform with Alicia Keys in New York's Nike campaign. Moreover, he earned a mention in Scoop Jackson's main division labelled Sole Provider. In 2003, Da Silva Jr. was the youngest player to be a part of the Harlem Wizards Show basketball team.

Luis Da Silva Jr was given the lead in the video game L.A Rush by Midway Games. The game went on to hit around 1 million sales internationally. He also worked on video game motion capturing for NBA Ballers: Chosen Ones, NBA Ballers: Phenom, NBA 2K8, NBA 2K9 and several others. He caught everyone's attention by getting featured on the front page of The Wall Street Journal, cover in TIME overseas, SLAM and DIME magazines.

In 2006, he got a chance to be a part of the Starbury Slam Tour and visited around 120 cities in 60 days. The audience was a big fan of his hip hop style basketball, making him a renowned personality.

In August 2007, he was invited to get an opportunity to be Harlem Globetrotters mini camp in Houston. He was offered a permanent position in the team after two days of joining.

In October 2008, Luis Da Silva was chosen to be a part of Maryland Nighthawks as their 14th player of their official travel team of the PBL, which took a tour in China and many other Asian countries.

In 2009, he set a Guinness World Record of 24 consecutive neck catches and was the youngest person in the Elizabeth Athletic Hall of Fame. In 2010, he performed in the World Basketball Festival for Nike in New York City when the Jay-Z performance was ongoing in the radio city music hall.

Although you may know of him as only a basketball player, Luis Da Silva has also been an actor appearing in films like The Brave Ones and Pride and Glory. He went on to produce Freestyle 101, available on iTunes and Apple stores. It is a tutorial targeting children, teenagers and adults to take up basketball and include it in their physical activities.

In 2011, Luis Da Silva played a role in the Fast Five and starred in 21 Jump Street in 2012. After that, his screen appearances were amassed, and he rose to fame. In 2013, he got his most prominent role in Dead Man Down as Terry sharing the screen with Terrance Howard's right-hand man in the movie. It was followed by another big hit, The Heat with Sandra Bullock and Mellisa McCarthy.

In 2014, he had a long list of upcoming movies in his bag already like Convergence, Aztec Warrior, American Heist, American Project, American Hero, Triple 9 and Mr Right. He also got multiple roles in John Travolta's recent pictures like Gotti, Trading Paint and Speed Kills.

He is also an active participant in television guest star and co-star roles on series such as Graceland, Person of Interest and Power.
